There is no minimum time commitment to participate in Minneapolis Climate Action. All we ask is that you come armed with enthusiasm and an interest in making a difference! Have you identified a climate problem area on the city, county, or even community level? Our unique committees offer you the opportunity to be heard and to take action!

Green Teams + Policy/Advocacy: Our Green Teams work to: share techniques and tips for successful outreach and effective engagement, leverage our voices to support our neighborhood initiatives, goals, and projects, build skills in communicating about difficult environmental topics, and to create community and support for each other as we address our environmental opportunities and challenges. Community Solar: Minneapolis Climate Action is working with local partners to bring a unique Community Solar Garden (CSG) program to Minneapolis. Our program is based on the Xcel Energy Solar Rewards Community Program and rates approved by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC). We support a transition to a green economy that not only includes everyone but also helps to close the employment gap, improves the natural world and creates a new story about the community's role in the energy system. Zero Waste: Zero Waste is the practice of reducing, reusing, and acting as a mindful consumer with the end goal of sending as little to the landfill as possible.
