Minneapolis Structured Electrical Entry Program: Electrical Training

Brief Description: 

Black, Latinx, Indigenous and other people of color are encouraged to register. 

Individuals that are selected for this program will be given training to ready them for

entry-level employment in the electrical construction industry.

Training will consist of;

  • Class size maximum of 15

  • Hands-on electric lab projects

  • Online homework

 This training is with the Minneapolis Electrical JATC through the IBEW Local 292.

Upon the successful completion of the Minneapolis Structured Electrical Entry Program,

individuals will be entered into the Minneapolis Electrical JATC training program

and will be placed for employment as an apprentice electrician with a union contractor.

Individuals will need to take an aptitude test, qualified applicants will then be able to

interview. Minimum requirements: You must be at least 17 years old to apply

(18 to be hired), be a high school graduate or have your GED. 

You must have completed one full credit of algebra, or higher math,

with a grade of C or better, and possess a valid driver’s license

MSEEP Spring Info Sessions:

December 2nd and 4th, 2025 4:00pm-5:00pm

Application Deadline:

January 8th, 2026 4:00pm-applications must be complete and verified by 4:00pm

MSEEP ETA Aptitude Test Dates

January 15th and 16th, 2026-Once your application is complete and verified, you will receive an

email with instructions to schedule a test date and time.

MSEEP Interviews

January 30th, 2026-If selected for an interview, applicants will be

notified by email.
