ABOUT US
Since 2007, Minneapolis Climate Action (MCA) has worked in collaboration with community members and local organizations to create energy democracy through community building and climate solutions rooted in deep systemic change. Vision: Engaged, resilient communities with democratized, equitable access to sustainable climate solutions.
Mission: We advance equitable opportunities to build resilient communities through climate solutions by fostering inclusive collaboration, empowering underserved populations, and driving sustainable innovation. Through education, advocacy, and strategic partnerships, we ensure that all communities especially those disproportionately affected by climate change—have access to the resources, knowledge, and technologies needed to thrive in a changing world.
NORTH HIGH COMMUNITY SOLAR GARDEN
In collaboration with North Minneapolis High School, Renewable Energy Partners and others, Minneapolis Climate Action helped establish the North High Community Solar Garden. Installed in 2021, this 365 kW solar garden produces enough clean energy to power dozens of Minneapolis homes and apartments every year.
Subscriptions to the North High CSG are available on a pay-up-front and pay-as-you-go basis. For pay-as-you-go plans, subscribers pay a small amount for their subscription each month and get a bill credit that is always higher than the payment. It’s a win-win for your pocketbook and the planet!
The North High CSG is currently connected to the grid and producing energy and benefits for our subscribers! Recently re-certified under the new MN CSG program, this garden is dedicated to providing the best benefits possible to our subscribers with a focus on Low and Moderate Income households.
