Trades like HVAC and electrical work have long been male-dominated, but that’s starting to change—and North Minneapolis is leading the shift. Women across Minnesota are stepping into high-paying green careers thanks to targeted training and community support.

Why HVAC and Electrical?

* High demand: These are essential jobs in heating, cooling, and power infrastructure.

* Union-supported: Many roles come with benefits, pensions, and job security.

* Hands-on and impactful: You're helping people stay safe and comfortable, while also improving energy efficiency.

Programs like HVAC training for women MN are designed with flexibility and support in mind—childcare options, mentorship, and stipends are often included.

Meet the Movement

We’re seeing more BIPOC tradeswomen enter these spaces, too. Organizations are creating electrical careers for women that offer both training and direct union entry points. This means fewer barriers, more support, and better outcomes.
